HGST got acquired, but the Ultrastar brand remains as a WD brand now. As late as a couple years ago however brand new Ultrastar drives were still being sold under the HGST name. They are just fine drives and for a competitive price there's no reason to avoid purchasing them.
The HGST Ultrastar He10 offered the best mix of performance and power consumption, especially in light of its SAS connection, in comparison to the competing HDDs.
