I'm not sure myself, I think Strong World is probably a better overall package, but Film Z delivers so much more emotional payoff for me despite being a bit messier. But they're different enough that they complement each other very nicely. They're both on Netflix currently so I say watch em both.

Movies worth watching are probably Film Z, Gold, Strong World (the movie itself isn't canon but Shiki as a character js canon), and Movie 6 Baron Omatsuri (quite a unique film compared among them all - a horror twist).
