Initially unaware that STONEHEARST ASYLUM was based on a Poe short story, a testament to Brad Anderson’s direction is that on Edward’s carriage/cart pulling up to the asylum in a steely grey fog, the visual is so meticulous and distinctive, my first thought was, “This should have been written by Poe.”
