The music of a Bond film is an integral part of the experience. Thunderball—the theme song performed by Tom Jones—is big and bombastic; it retains the classic Bond feel you’d want in a theme song and captivates your attention as well as any Shirly Bassey theme does. The score itself is really effective.

Thunderball is my favorite Bond movie by miles. It's the best Bond in his best performance, has an hilariously witty script and has the best henchman in the series with Fiona. Plus the he locations are beautiful. Why is it that Bond wants Largo to know he’s an agent and on to him from the casino onwards.

The producers assumed the James Bond movie series would be finished by that point, but it was still going strong and after a decade McClory hired Sean Connery to co-write Warhead, his first attempt to remake Thunderball.
