- Ashes to Ashes. Ashes to Ashes is a spin-off from the excellent Life on Mars, which saw John Sims as Sam Tyler, a Manchester cop in the 2000s who gets hit by a car and winds up as a Manchester cop in the '70s, dealing with the racism, sexism, and generally lax attitudes towards smoking, drinking, and police work, all while trying to get back to his present.
- The Bay. Scottish actress Morven Christie stars as Detective Sergeant LIsa Armstrong, a single mom in Lancashire. The show starts off with a bit of a bang (pun intended), but if you can stick with it, the first two seasons are quite excellent, as Armstrong races to discover the fate of a pair of teenage twins and then the murder of a prominent lawyer in the second season.

- Rosemary & Thyme. If you can’t tell by the title, this is a cozy mystery. Laura Thyme and Rosemary Boxer are a former police officer and horticulturalist, respectively, who meet fortuitously at the series’ beginning and start to solve crimes of a horticultural nature together.
