This episode has a resemblance to the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Jetrel", wherein Ma'Bor Jetrel deceives the crew of the USS Voyager into using their transporter in his attempt to revive the Talaxians that dissolved from the metreon cascade that he created.
Old family friends of Captain Archer, Doctor Emory Erickson (Bill Cobbs) and his daughter Danica (Leslie Silva), beam aboard Enterprise to test new sub-quantum transporter technology Erickson has developed (That has the potential to transport people over multiple light yr distances).

May 17, 2016 · Even though Daedalus is technically a standalone episode, the story still ties quite firmly into the continuity of the fourth season around it. Although the fourth season had abandoned the season-long arc that drove the third season, there is still a strong sense of continuity between individual episodes.
