James "Clubber" Lang is the main antagonist of the 1982 film Rocky III and a minor antagonist in the 2021 recut Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Drago - The Ultimate Director's Cut. He is a brutal boxer who challenged Rocky Balboa to take his title.
It gets used interchangeably. Clubber Lang was never a 'villain', but in the story structure, he's the antagonist which people equate with 'the bad guy'. This is true. I think it's safe to use them interchangeably though, unless anyone can really clarify the differences if any.

James "Clubber" Lang is a fictional character created by Sylvester Stallone for the film Rocky III, which was released in 1982. [1] He was portrayed by American actor and real-life wrestler Mr. T and serves as the main antagonist of the film. [2]
In total, 1,200 people auditioned for the role of Clubber Lang and the role eventually went to Mr. T, which would later become his film debut. Clubber Lang was the only villainous role that Mr. T has ever played in his career. Clubber is also the first Rocky antagonist to be considered a true villain due to his ruthless and vile nature.
