AD 2000 concerns safety standards for pressure vessels and other pressure equipment, but excludes all items and equipment designed for nuclear use. Because harmonization is now obligatory among EU members, the AD 2000 regulation also strictly conforms to the European PED 2014/68/EU.
AD 2000 stands for “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Druckbehalter”, which translates to Working Group on Pressure Vessels. “Merkblatter” are “specification sheets” AD 2000 Merkblatter, the German Code for pressure vessel design and manufacture.
The AD 2000-Merkblätter are prepared by the seven associations listed below who together form the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Druck-behälter” (AD). The structure and the application of the AD 2000 Code and the procedural guidelines are covered by AD 2000-Merk-blatt G 1.

The AD 2000 online service provides access to all publications (Merkblätter) constituting the AD 2000 code on pressure vessels in English or German. These contain all the essential safety requirements that must be met in Germany in order to comply with the European Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68 / EU).
AD 2000 Merkblatt was developed for pressure vessel design and manufacture. The certification includes assessment of technical documents, assessment of test reports, assessment of testing procedures, check of the reliability of working procedures and personnel appraisal of materials use.
