Payment on Demand shares significant DNA with Harriet Craig — a hard-driving woman, focused on status and rank over all else — but it starts where the earlier film ends, with the husband (David Ramsey, played by Barry Sullivan) asking his wife (Bette Davis as Joyce) for divorce.
