Entrance into Pocahontas State Park is $7 on weekdays and $10 on weekends for standard vehicles. Buses or larger vehicles carrying bigger groups are required to pay a higher fee. Hiking & Mountain Biking Trails
Nature abounds throughout Pocahontas State Park for hikers or mountain bikers of all skill and fitness levels. The park contains 90 miles of trails overall; 10 miles of trails for hiking-only, 44 miles of trails exclusive to mountain biking, and several others that are mixed-use. Fishing
Fishing is permitted in two bodies of water in Pocahontas State Park: Swift Creek and Beaver Lakes. A valid Virginia fishing licenseis required, so make sure you have one before you go. There is a boat ramp available for a $3 fee per boat, however, boats with gas-powered engines are not permitted, and the ramp is subject to close in the winter or when water levels are high.
Kayaking, Canoeing, or Paddleboarding
Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards can be rented from the park office throughout the summer, or you can bring your own if you’d like to paddle out on Swift Creek.

The Bright Hope Trail is perhaps one of Pocahontas State Park’s best kept secrets. This 5.23 mile, moderate difficulty trail is in the quiet and remote portion of the park located south of Beach Road SR 655. The trail is a multi-use loop for hikers, bikers and horseback riders through the wooded, and otherwise undeveloped, area of the park.
The park's Aquatic Recreation Center is open from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and holidays from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. From August 22 to Labor Day, the center is open Thursday-Sunday.

Pocahontas State Park is a state park located in Chesterfield, Virginia, United States, not far from the state capitol of Richmond. The park was laid out by the Civilian Conservation Corps along the Swift Creek, and at 7,919 acres (32.05 km 2) is Virginia's largest state park. [1] In 2015, the park welcomed 1,142,601 visitors.
