Aug 7, 2023 · NBC canceled the soap in 2007, and so it moved to DirecTV’s The 101 Network, only to be canceled again later that year, with the final episode airing on August 7, 2008.
Passions-- which currently averages more than 2 million viewers and enjoys an intensely dedicated fan base -- will end its network run on NBC Sept. 7 with a series of cliffhangers. It will resurface on DirecTV Sept. 17, picking up where the series left off.

Reilly and produced by NBC Studios, the series was subsequently picked up by direct broadcast satellite service DirecTV, which broadcast new episodes airing on its exclusive channel The 101. In December 2007, DirecTV decided not to renew its contract for the series, and the studio was unable to sell the show elsewhere.
