The following is a timeline for AMC's Television Universe: The Walking Dead, Fear, World Beyond, Tales, Dead City, Daryl Dixon, The Ones Who Live, Dead Reckoning, Survival Instinct, and Onslaught. It also includes the Webisodes that adds to this timeline. This is the chronological order of events for each day of the entire series.

The television universe timeline is separated into two categories: Before and The Trials, which refers to when the Wildfire virus became a global pandemic on August 25, 2010. The following sixteen days involved the collapse of human civilization and resulted in the United States Military deploying its entire arsenal of napalm chemical weapons to destroy all major urban centers. The world entered complete anarchy after September 10, 2010.

    Real-life Time Period

•It has been established through various mediums and sources that the apocalypse of the Television Universe began in 2010. Similar to how the apocalypse in the Comic Universe began in 2003 when Issue 1 was released, the apocalypse in the Television Universe began in the same year the main show premiered. •It was first confirmed in the Pilot, which takes place during the onset of the Trials, as Alicia Clark received a letter of acceptance to UC Berkley several months prior on the date April 12, 2010. •The episode Date of Death, which takes place several weeks after the start of the Trials, features graves of recently deceased characters with the date of death labeled as 2010. •It was confirmed through various sources that the beginning of the Trials was August 25, 2010 and Monument Day was August 27, 2010. •In So Close, Yet So Far, a sign can be seen that bares the date "08.07.10", or August 7, 2010, and advertises a "library week". The fact that the sign is up would indicate that this library week is coming up soon, or has recently passed and the sign has not yet been taken down. •A flashback in Omega shows a young Lydia asking about Halloween coming up and preparing a costume 23 days after the Trials. This further confirms that the Trials began in August or September. •In Remember, Deanna Monroe, an Ohio Congresswoman, mentioned to Rick Grimes that before the Trials, she was running for reelection in the 2010 mid-term and that she was prepared to become a professional poker player if she lost. The 2010 mid-term elections were November 2nd, 2010, indicating that the Trials began before November 2010. •The end of the main show's second season begins to exhibit late autumn/early winter weather, as expressed by the characters. This occurs nearly three months after the onset of the Trials. With the Trials beginning in August 2010, it correlates how winter began three months later in November 2010. •During the events of The Last Light, it was revealed on Jennifer Mallick's watch that the current date was October 26, 2020. Due to the fact that this episode takes place approximately 61 days after the 10th anniversary of Monument Day on August 27, 2020; this confirms that the Trials began on August 25, 2010. •AMC hosted a "Monument Day Weekend" on August 26 - August 27, 2023 by providing a free streaming marathon of The Walking Dead, officially confirming that Monument Day was August 27, 2010. •In Here's Negan, a flashback shows Lucille Smith receiving her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer shortly before the Trials. In an attempt to call her husband, Negan Smith, and her best friend, Janine - her phone history states the date as November 12th. This is a likely error, as the episode's production was shot during mid-November and does not correlate to previously stated time periods of the Trials. •A similar error was made in the Pilot of Fear the Walking Dead as security footage of Nicholas Clark leaving the Temple Community Hospital shortly before the Trials is marked with the date of February 2015, which was when the episode's production occurred - as opposed to the current story taking place in August 2010. •In Killer Within, the Governor suggests to Merle Dixon that they should visit Augusta and take only the women to let them play, remarking that it would be historic. Merle argues, "And break decades of tradition?" They are referring to the Augusta National Golf Club, which, until August 2012, did not allow women to be members. This would place the onset of the outbreak prior to August 2012. It is to be noted that this episode was written prior to August 2012. •In Skidmark, Daniel Salazar keeps a calendar. The episode opens on October 12th, 2013. The episode ends two days later on October 14th, 2013. •In the episode Scars, a flashback takes place eight months after the disappearance of Rick Grimes in What Comes After. Over the course of several days, the flashback is during Halloween - based on the decorations, costumes, and party in Alexandria - making it October 31st, 2014. •The episode Find Me is told through multiple flashbacks detailing the relationship between Daryl Dixon and Leah Shaw. Nearly three and a half years after the disappearance of Rick Grimes, and four years before the episode's present timeline, Daryl and Leah observe the August 21st, 2017 solar eclipse. •The episode New Haunts takes place during Halloween 2021 - making it the second time the holiday was celebrated since the flashbacks in the episode, Scars. •The Raft of Fear the Walking Dead currently takes place in August 2014. The final season of The Walking Dead currently takes place in 2022. The last episode aired in November 2022. Interestingly, the apocalypse began when the show premiered in 2010 and ended with the show in 2022.
