The library was permanently moved to the Pattee Library building. By the 1960s, the collection had grown to 800,000 books. The Pattee Library was renovated in the late 1990s, and in 2000, it was rededicated along with the new Paterno Library, a portion of which comprises the former East Wing of Pattee.
Jun 6, 2022 · Since 1993, the Pattee and Paterno Libraries have been reconstructed, with open spaces filled in, older spaces remodeled, and modern technology installed. Today, it is a resource for Penn State faculty and students, as well as Centre County and – through its campus libraries – all Pennsylvanians.
Due to an ever-expanding accumulation of books, the library then moved to the Carnegie Building in 1904, then to the Pattee Library, built between 1937-40. As the collections grew, so did Pattee: additional wings were added and in 2000, the new Paterno Library and renovated Pattee Library opened.

Aug 22, 2019 · The pain of working on group projects will be eased a bit this semester, thanks to a recently-completed $17.3 million renovation of the Pattee Library. After months of construction, Pattee unveiled its handsome new digs this afternoon.
Penn State’s Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning approved a plan today (Sept. 13) that will help to expand space at Pattee Library for student studying and collaboration on the University Park campus.

May 9, 2023 · The Pattee and Paterno Library’s east entrance off Curtin Road will be closed for the remainder of the summer as it undergoes sidewalk renovations, stormwater drainage updates, and additional landscaping efforts, according to the university.
