Fort Snelling is a former military fortification and National Historic Landmark in the U.S. state of Minnesota on the bluffs overlooking the confluence of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. The military site was initially named Fort Saint Anthony, but it was renamed Fort Snelling once its construction was completed in 1825.

Located in the heart of the Twin Cities, Fort Snelling State Park offers extensive hiking, bike, snowshoe, and ski trails that link to an extensive regional trail system. Canoe, fish, or swim in Snelling Lake or hike on Pike Island where the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers meet.
Historic Fort Snelling is located at the junction of Minnesota Highways 5 and 55, one mile east of Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
