    William Bishop was a character featured in the 2021 TV series, The Equalizer. He is played by Chris Noth. He is Robyn McCall's mentor, and quirky the ex–CIA director.

    At some point in his life, Bishop met the wife of the criminal known as "The Architect". His duty was to get her family safely in America. He ended up fathering a son through her. Because Bishop was already married, he left her and her son to avoid scrutiny. During his time in the CIA, he became acquainted and knew all the CIA agents' families and their quirks and habits.

    Bishop was responsible for Mason Quinn's life sentence incarceration. However, the CIA released him on a plea deal much to Robyn's anger as Quinn tried to kill her and the fact that he was aware of Quinn's release. In another mission, it involved a known thief named Jessie Cook (a.k.a. The Worm). According to Robyn, Jessie Cook threatened Robyn's life if Bishop didn't transfer the money needed for their mission. After some time, he left the CIA and owned his own security guard company.

    Bishop makes his last appearance in Separated. It was revealed in Blowback, he was on the plane to get information about Mason Quinn before he was killed by the latter with a Russian electromagnet cannon.
