May 9, 2024 · Kevin Sorbo Suffered Multiple Strokes During ‘Hercules’. Kevin Sorbo became famous by playing Hercules, but the role nearly killed him. In 1997, Sorbo suffered three strokes due to an aneurysm. Shortly after visiting the chiropractor, he was hit with the strokes, which nearly ended his life.
Sorbo made his final appearance as Hercules on Xena, in the Season Five episode "God Fearing Child", which aired in February 2000. In between his years playing Hercules, Sorbo played his first leading film role in the 1997 film Kull the Conqueror .
