James Cameron's Avatar and Avatar: The Last Airbender may have more than a name in common, as The Way of Water's sequel will seemingly feature an aggressive nation of fire Na'vi that upset the balance of the universe.
Speaking to French outlet 20 Minutes (and spotted by Games Radar), Cameron explained that Avatar 3 will feature what he calls "Ash People" who will be a darker take on the Na'vi presented so far.
The next films will feature "cultures different from those I have already shown," he said. "The fire will be represented by the Ash People. I want to reveal the Na'vi from another angle because, at the moment, I have only shown their good sides."
Cameron has already shot scenes from Avatar 3 and 4, to ensure what he called the "Stranger Things effect" doesn't happen and the younger actors don't age years between films.
