2 :14 The prescription • The Lord was giving advice to an already wise king. We will find that there were four things that Israel was to do, four conditions. Then, in consequence, there are three things that God would do, three promises so to speak. Remember that Solomon was a political leader, one of the greatest ones of all time.
The presence of the Lord had come to rest upon the temple (v. 3), a long-awaited event. In answer to King Solomon’s prayer (2 Chron. 6:26-39), God appears to Solomon at night and answers (2 Chron. 7:12-22). The fact that v. 14 is an answer to King Solomon’s prayer provides a great deal of information.

2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. In addition to humbling ourselves and praying, God calls us to turn from our wicked ways.
