May 1, 2024 · 概要. 2007年 の 日経BP による当時の管理者へのインタビュー記事によれば、ウィキペディア日本語版は 2001年 5月頃に発足したものの、当初は編集者も少数で、 ローマ字 表記の項目が約23項目と コンテンツ もほとんどなく、認知もほとんどされていなかったが [1] 、 2002年 夏のシステムの更新によって日本語表記にも対応するようになり [1] 、徐々に日本人のユーザーも増大していった、と述べられている。 2005年 以降は Web 2.0 ブームの一端として大手 マスコミ にも取り上げられるようになり、 インターネット に接する一般市民にも認知されていった。
May 2, 2024 · 英語中的「Wikipedia」是「 wiki 」（一種可供多人 協同寫作 的網路技術）和「encyclopedia」（ 百科全書 ）結合而成的 混成詞 ，網站初期時僅以「 中文Wikipedia 」為名，直到2003年10月21日，「Wikipedia」的 中文 名，經過13人討論及投票後，確定為「 維基百科 」，「 維基 」兩字除了 音譯 類似於「wiki」，另外「維」字意為系物的大 繩 ，也作「 網 」解釋，引申為 網際網路 ；「基」是事物的根本，或是 建築物 的底部，「維基百科」合起來可引申為 網際網路 中裝載全人類基礎 知識 的 百科全書 [4] 。
