Aug 5, 2022 · The 46th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF46) will open with two major Hong Kong films – the world premiere of Philip YUNG’s Where the Wind Blows, starring Aaron KWOK and Tony LEUNG Chiu-wai, and NG Yuen-fai’s mega-budget sci-fi blockbuster Warriors of Future, starring Sean LAU and Louis KOO, who also produced.
- Where the Wind Blows. Originally expected to open last year’s HKIFF, Philip Yung Tsz-kwong’s long-delayed follow-up to his 2015 award winner Port of Call is finally seeing the light of day.
- Warriors of Future. Actor-producer Louis Koo Tin-lok’s extravagant science-fiction passion project has been in the works so long that many industry pundits thought it might never be completed.
- To My Nineteen-Year-Old Self. Another world premiere to add to this year’s line-up is Mabel Cheung Yuen-ting’s long-gestating documentary about Hong Kong school life.
- Crimes of the Future. The master of body horror, David Cronenberg, is back at his best, delighting and reviling audiences in equal measure with his unflinching explorations of the human body and its many mysterious mutations.
