The 29th American Infantry Division was founded on 3 February 1941 and brought together men belonging to the National Guard. Comprised of four battalions and based in Fort Meade (Maryland, USA), it receives from its creation a large number of vehicles and equipment freshly out of the weapons factories.
About. More than anything, the 29th Infantry Division is a realism unit with a history stretching back all the way to the original Day of Defeat. Over the span of nearly two decades the unit has spread from one game to the next, diversifying and growing in size and scope with every passing year.

The 29th Infantry Division was created in July 1917, a few months after the United States entered World War I. It served in France in 1918. In early 1941, the "Blue and Gray" division was reactivated for service and became part of the first Allied assault on the Normandy beaches on D-Day (June 6, 1944), the massive invasion of western Europe.
