Jul 2, 2022 · Review: Sorta a low-budget Hannie Caulder meets Clint Eastwood that could have benefitted from better performances in the lead roles of Frank Allison and Selina Stevens. The scene early in the film when the Horn gang visits the Stevens home will certainly grab your attention. Unfortunately, the film never again matches that level of intensity.

RELEASED TO VIDEO IN 2010 directed by Shane Van Dyke (Dick's grandson), "6 Guns" stars Barry Van Dyke (Dick's son) in a Shane-like role. The plot is pretty typical for Westerns: A band of outlaws murder & rape a family, but the wife (Sage Mears) survives and, after overcoming her disillusionment, wants justice.

Jun 26, 2010 · 6 Guns is a cut above most independent straight-to-DVD Westerns because the values are decent, the Spaghetti Western-flavored music works, the direction is assured and the acting, for the most part, is solid, especially the performances by Meed, Evigan and the older Van Dyke. These actors ought to make a more ambitious picture next time.
