A Carousel for Missoula is a volunteer-built, hand-carved carousel in Missoula, Montana, located on the Clark Fork River in Missoula's downtown Caras Park within walking distance of the historic Wilma Theatre, Jeannette Rankin Peace Center and Osprey baseball stadium. The carousel is accompanied by a volunteer-built park, Dragon Hollow.
Situated on the bank of the Clark Fork River in Caras Park – a popular venue for events – the Carousel is a Missoula mainstay. Carousel Hours: 11am-5:30 every day of the year–including Christmas Day (and rides are FREE on Christmas Day!) Exception: Pony restoration usually happens the first 2 weeks of January every year.
A Carousel for Missoula, a kid's paradise, is one of the first fully hand-carved carousels to be built in the United States since the Great Depression. From little more than dreams, hard work and love, a carousel was created by hundreds of volunteers. The Carousel has 38 horses and two chariots.
