[1] [2] It depicts the life of the Biblical King David and his conflicted relationship with King Saul. It was one of the first films made for television. [3]
Renowned for his courageous deeds as a youth when he slew Goliath, David (Jeff Chandler) inadvertently incurs the wrath of King Saul (Basil Sydney), who is jealous of the hero's popularity.
