Overview. The father of a girl in an orphanage, who doesn't remember him, has been writing to her with tales of his success in business. Actually, he is impersonating a friend, a handsome gambler. When the father dies, the gambler takes the girl from the orphanage and tells her the truth.
Adam refers Evelyne off to boarding school. When she comes back, she is a beautiful young woman, and this obscures his feelings for her. While that is happening, Adam’s sometimes girlfriend, Moira (Helen Cherry), and his trouble-making brother, Roddy (Raymond Young), cause a crack between him and Evelyne that might be permanent.
