Career Fever is the ninth episode of Season 4 of The Brady Bunch, and the 81st overall episode of the series. Written by Adele Styler and Burt Styler and directed by Jerry London, it first aired 17 November 1972 on ABC.
Mike mistakenly believes Greg wants to follow in his father's footsteps to become an architect.
Mike is excited to read in Greg's class composition that he wants to become an architect, just like his good old dad. Greg only wrote that for a school assignment, and doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up. Greg doesn't have the heart to tell his father that he really doesn't want to be an architect, so he devises a plan that he hopes will make his father dissuade him from entering the profession. Greg creates ridiculous designs to show he will never make it as an architect.
His plan doesn't have quite the reaction from Mike that Greg had hoped. The plan and the reaction are the result of both sides not wanting to hurt the feelings of the other. Meanwhile, Peter, Jan, Bobby and Cindy, spurred on by Greg's class assignment, have come up with their chosen professions as doctor, nurse, astronaut and model respectively. Peter decides to do a self diagnosis and mistakenly concludes that he has contracted a rare disease, but he has misread the encyclopedia. And Bobby and Cindy reconsider based on what they can or cannot eat.
•In 2015, a scene from this episode was used as a parody in a Snickers commercial first aired during Super Bowl XLIX.
•Jan, not Greg, ends up becoming an architect in The Bradys. Greg becomes an obstetrician.
