Adrian Spies (April 17, 1920 – October 2, 1998) was an American screenwriter, active from the 1940s through to the 1980s. He won an Edgar Award for an episode of Studio One in Hollywood and was nominated for an Emmy Award for an episode of Dr. Kildare .

Adrian Spies (17 April 1920 – 2 October 1998; age 78) was a television writer born in New Jersey. In 1966, he wrote the original teleplay for the Star Trek: The Original Series first season episode "Miri". Although it was heavily reworked by story editor Steven W. Carabatsos, Spies received sole writing credit.
Spies, was a graduate of the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University, and early in his career worked as a reporter and feature writer for The New York Mirror before he built a long career writing for television, spanning forty years, from 1949 to 1989. Other series which he has written for include Wagon Train, The Untouchables, The Defenders, Hawaii Five-O, and Police Story.
