Dying Light 2’s Aitor side quest unlocks shortly after your arrival on the PK’s Floating Fortress in the Wharf region. The commander’s life and those of other innocent people are in your hands. It’s a big responsibility, but fret not. This Aitor guide explains which choices to make and whether you should save Aitor or let him die.

After the soldiers carrying Aitor leave the open area, track the Aitor quest, and follow the objective marker upstairs. You’ll go through a few rooms until you reach a makeshift operating room where Aitor lies on the verge of death, surrounded by his wife and children.
After Aitor’s wife leaves, the doctor explains an herbalist named Margaret at the survivor settlement on Culvert Island likely has the knowledge to help save Aitor. Herbalists are outcasts and treated with contempt by superstitious people – such as Aitor’s wife – but an outsider like Aiden can approach Margaret without fear of reprisal. That’s your cue to leave.
The quickest way back to Culvert Island is fast traveling to the Fish Eye metro station. Head to the island, then approach the door on the second floor of the housing building there. You’ll meet Gerard, and after some hostile discussion, Margaret convinces him to let you in.
Gerard and Margaret’s attitude toward you will change depending on whether you completed the Renegades quest after delivering Jack Matt’s orders to Rowe. However, if you didn’t complete the quest – or if it didn’t unlock for you – Margaret still agrees to help you with Aitor’s medicine.
She tells you the small petals of the Recluse flower are the only thing that can save Aitor. You can only collect them at night from toxic sludge, and there just so happens to be a sludge deposit nearby. If it’s daytime, rest in the bed in Margaret’s house to fast forward, then exit the island by the bridge at the opposite end from Margaret’s home.

Once you’re back in Aitor’s sickroom, you’ve got a few choices to make. His wife demands to know whether you visited Margaret. Either response gets essentially the same result. The next one is more important.
You have four choices:
•I give Aitor the small petals (saves his life, no punishment for Margaret)
•I give Aitor the big petals (Aitor dies, the PK murder Margaret)
•Radio Lawan for advice (more time to decide)
•I refuse to give Aitor the herbs (TBD)
