Actor. Born Alredo Lettieri, he was an Italian character performer best known for his portrayal of Virgil The Turk Sollozzo in the original Godfather (1972) movie. At the age of 36, he made his screen debut in the TV film The Hanged Man and went on to be cast in films as the perfect villain.
