Alan Walbridge Ladd Jr. (October 22, 1937 – March 2, 2022) was an American film industry executive and producer. He served as president of 20th Century Fox from 1976 to 1979, during which he approved the production of Star Wars , on his confidence of George Lucas , which proved well founded.

Alan Ladd Jr. was a film industry executive and producer who worked with some of the most acclaimed actors and directors in Hollywood. He produced classics like Star Wars, Alien, Chariots of Fire and The Right Stuff. He also founded his own production company, The Ladd Company, and became the first African-American President of Marketing and Distribution at Twentieth Century Fox.
