Alberto R. Gonzales (born August 4, 1955) is an American lawyer who served as the 80th United States Attorney General from 2005 to 2007 and is the highest-ranking Hispanic American in executive government to date.
Alberto R. Gonzales, (born Aug. 4, 1955, San Antonio, Texas, U.S.), American lawyer, judge, and attorney general of the United States (2005–07), the first Hispanic to occupy the post. Gonzales, the son of Mexican migrant workers who spoke little English, was raised in Houston, Texas.
