Alexa was founded as an independent company in 1996 and acquired by Amazon in 1999 for $250 million in stock. Alexa provided web traffic data, global rankings, and other information on over 30 million websites.

Dec 9, 2021 · Alexa Internet, a service that provides web traffic analysis for more than two decades, will shut down on May 1, 2022. The company announced the decision in an announcement post, thanking its users and saying it has made the difficult decision to retire the site.
- Open the Alexa app. You can download the Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Note: There are a lot of fake Alexa apps, so make sure you download the Alexa app from AMZN Mobile LLC.
- Then tap Devices. You will see this at the bottom of your screen.
- Next, select Echo & Alexa. You will see this in the top-left corner of your screen.
- Then choose the Alexa device you want to connect to a new WiFi network. If you don’t see your device listed, go back to the Devices screen and select All Devices.
