Alfonsina Storni was an Argentine poet and teacher. She authored many collections of verse, including Mundo de siete pozos (Editorial Tor, 1934), Poemas de amor (Editorial Palabrerías, 1926), and Languidez (Cooperativa Editorial, 1920), which won the Primer Premio Municipal and the Segundo Premio Nacional de Literatura in Argentina.
Abstract. This chapter reviews Alfonsina Storni's journalistic writings that permit her to be seen as a working woman, acting autonomously for change in the social status of women. She no longer represents the woman seeking her reflection in the mirror of male desire.
