Alice Ripley is an actor, singer, songwriter, live performer, recording artist, and mixed media artist who was born in California "six years before we landed on the moon, seven weeks before the Beatles landed on the Ed Sullivan show, three weeks after John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and eleven days before Christmas," as she has put it.
Born in San Leandro, California, Ripley started taking guitar lessons at age fourteen (she still plays professionally), and at about the same time she took acting lessons. “Theater,” she said, “became my church, my structure, my family, my identity.”
