Mark Harmon is an American television and film actor known for his role as a doctor on St. Elsewhere. He is also known for the role in Chicago Hope and NCIS. He is also famous for his role in The West Wing as Simon Donovan and he won the Emmy award in the four-episode story arc. His guest-starring role in two episodes of JAG was also highly praised
Mark Harmon was born on September 2, 1951, in Burbank, California, the USA as Thomas Mark Harmon. He is the youngest of three children with two sisters. His father was a football player and broadcaster, Tom Harmon and her mother was an actress and artist Elyse Knox. Both of his sisters are an actress, Kristin Nelson, and Kelly Harmon. Mark claims to have renounced his Austrian and to have adopted the American life from a very early age. Mark has completed his junior college at Los Angeles Pierce College and has graduated in B.A. in Communication from University of California, Los Angeles. He started playing for the UCLA Bruins football team as a quarterback while studying in the college. After his degree, he planned for advertising or law as his further study but stopped to pursue his career in acting.
Mark started his career initially as a merchandising director but the fate was something else He did his first commercial for Kelloggs Cereal.
