I have chosen to cover these two records in one review because together they contain typical music from Big Bands in the era 1920 to 1943, some 23 years. Paul Whiteman from 1920 to 1933 and Jimmy Dorsey from 1936 to 1943. From a social history point of view, probably even more importantly, they represent popular music of that era.
