This documentary explores dancer Marta Becket's decision to leave the art scene of New York City, move across the country to Death Valley Junction and renovate the decrepit Amargosa Opera House in order to perform first and foremost for herself. In addition to interviewing Becket as well as some of her friends and fans, including writer Ray Bradbury, the film utilizes performance footage and offers external views of the Amargosa and its surroundings to paint a picture of Becket's life and work.
