Anastasia Island is a barrier island located off the northeast Atlantic coast of Florida in the United States. It sits east of St. Augustine, running north–south in a slightly southeastern direction to Matanzas Inlet. The island is about 14 miles (23 km) long and an average of 1 mile in width.
Visitors can find things to do and places of interest on both sides of the island from surf, sand, and sun, to kayaking, fishing, and historic sites. Anastasia Island is home to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.

Anastasia island is nestled between Vilano and St Augustine beaches and offers a rare long coastline unspoiled by condos and hordes of people. They have shower and bathroom facilities, picnic benches, and a snack stand. I also saw a place to rent kayaks. It's a great beach for families.
