May 23, 2018 · SOBCHAK, ANATOLY ALEXANDROVICH (1937 – 2000), law professor; mayor of St. Petersburg. Anatoly Sobchak was one of the leading liberal politicians of the perestroika era. Born in Chita, he completed a law degree at Leningrad State University in 1959.
