Andre Johnson, Jr. is one of the main characters of the hit TV show, Black-ish, as well as the main character of the spin-off Grown-ish in Season 5.
Junior is portrayed by Marcus Scribner.
Personality
Junior, much like Jack, severely lacks intelligence in many aspects (something the two are frequently recognized for). He is the oddity of the family, as he never makes sense to many people because of his eccentric personality and bizarre interests. Throughout the family, Junior is belittled, teased, ridiculed and mocked for his idiosyncrasies. He speaks fluent Dothraki, wears capes and cloaks, believes in wizardry, (driven from his love for Game of Thrones) and was willing to give up his faith to have a Bar Mitzvah. Junior, aside from Jack, is the prime target for mockery and insults by Diane, Zoey, Dre, Pops, and Ruby (and to a much lesser extent, Bow). He has been described as a nerd, clingy, weirdo, Long-Head (by Diane most of the time), and lame. In a few episodes, Junior is shown to have a large amount of knowledge and intelligence that impress his siblings that normally degrade him on a daily basis. He knows day-trading and regarding the country’s government and law system, the environment, and some black history. He is also extremely responsible and micro-managy, something Santamaria recognized in him. However, none of these things outmatch Junior’s extremely eccentric personality traits. As he gets older, he significantly matures and loses many of his “odd” habits, having a steady girlfriend and even living independent of his parents. During his appearances on Grown-ish, he serves as the mediator and advice-giver to Zoey.
