He played as a second baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Giants, from 1926 to 1929. Cohen was an interim manager for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1960.

He collected three hits in the Giants’ 1928 season opener, led the team to victory, and was carried around the Polo Grounds on the shoulders of Jewish fans.
