A Hollywood star of the silent era, Page’s best remembered film is The Broadway Melody (1929) which won the Best Picture prize at the second Oscar ceremony. She retired in the early 1930s, but after a 70-year hiatus took cameos in exploitation movies such as The Crawling Brain (2001).
