After Anne Providence (Jean Peters), a female pirate captain, picks up Pierre (Louis Jourdan), he claims he can find a treasure map in Jamaica. Some of her associates think Pierre is a traitor, but Anne has fallen in love with him. When Anne sails her ship to Jamaica, Pierre goes inland to locate the map but secretly meets with British navy officers, who have forced him to be a spy.
