Antwone Fisher is a 2002 American biographical drama film directed by and starring Denzel Washington in his film directing debut. Washington stars in the film as the psychiatrist Jerome Davenport, alongside Hollywood newcomer Derek Luke, who plays the title role (and personally knew the real Antwone Fisher), and former model Joy Bryant, as Fisher's girlfriend.

Antwone Fisher was born on August 3, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Cleveland's foster care system and was emancipated from care at age 17 in the world alone and living on the tough streets of Cleveland, at age 18 Antwone joined the United States Navy where he traveled the world and was awarded many medals and ribbons including two good conduct medals.
