Despite their differences, each version of the film deserves respect for its unique aspects and the challenges faced during its creation.

Aug 14, 2019 · “ Apocalypse Now ” is a movie that drove Coppola to the brink of both financial ruin and actual madness. The spectacularly ambitious grafting of Joseph Conrad ’s Heart of Darkness to the historical quagmire of America’s disastrous military campaign in Vietnam was always a spectacular sprawl, a maximalist spectacle.
With a straight 3 hour running time, this version of Apocalypse Now may not be the best version of the movie but is an interesting take on a film that already has different versions.
