Directed by James Wan, Aquaman 2 is poised to be the send-off for the current DCEU, bringing together Momoa's titular hero and the Kingdom of Atlantis for one final adventure.
Amber Heard, Randall Park, Dolph Lundgren, Temuera Morrison, Martin Short, and Nicole Kidman also star in supporting roles. Momoa pitched a story for an Aquaman sequel during production of the first film. Wan did not want to rush a sequel but agreed in January 2019 to oversee development.
