Evan, the tour guide, was warm, welcoming, and certainly an experienced hiker as well as knowledgeable about the local plants, fauna, and history of the Meteora monasteries.

So, the Meteora rocks and monasteries are totally knock-your-socks-off and well worth the long train trip. We were met at the station by our guide Chris with a comortable bus. Chris is from the area, and studied history. Great English. Winter is the time to visit, weather permitting, as it can get very crowded in high season.
