Børge Brende (born 25 September 1965) is a Norwegian politician and diplomat, and has been the president of the World Economic Forum since 2017. A member of the Conservative Party, he previously was Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017, Minister of the Environment from 2001 to 2004 and Minister of Trade and Industry from 2004 to 2005.
On Monday, 23 October, the World Economic Forum formally welcomes its new President Børge Brende. He will chair the Managing Board, which has collective responsibility for the successful execution of the Forum’s strategies and activities.

Børge Brende is the President of the World Economic Forum and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway. From 2011 until becoming FM he was a managing director at the World Economic Forum in Geneva. From 2009-2011 Brende was Secretary General of Red Cross Norway.
