    Tony Award winner BD Wong is an American actor, the only actor in Broadway history to receive the Tony Award,Outer Critics Circle Award, Desk Award,Clarence Derwent Award, and Theatre World Awardfor the role of M. butterfly. He is originally from Hong Kong but holds American nationality and belongs to Chinese and American ethnicity. The 56-years-old Wong grew up in San Francisco to Roberta Christine, a telephone company supervisor, and a postal worker, William D. Wong. He also has one younger and one elder brother. Wong studied Lincoln High School, where he learned acting and featured as the main character in huge school plays, and later he joined San Francisco State University.

    Wong became famous from his Broadway debut in “M. Butterfly” along with John Lithgow. He appeared on the big screen in “The Freshman” in 1990, in 1991 to re-create of “Father of the Bride” and its sequel, “Father of the Bride Part II," Jurassic Park in 1993. He also delivered the voice of Caption Shang in Disney’s “Mulan” in 1998, and the video game “Kingdom Hearts II." In 2004, Wong played a role in Stephen Sondheim’s “Pacific Overtures."
