During World War II, three U.S. soldiers are ordered to sneak onto a Filipino island, meet with local guerrillas and gauge the strength of occupying Japanese troops. Lt. Craig (Jimmie Rodgers) hopes to avoid pulling his trigger at all costs, Jersey (John Hackett) is a hardened veteran and young Burnett (Jack Nicholson) has the all-important task of manning the radio and reporting the group's findings.
